Norway Grants
Project title: CREATION OF THE FIRST IN THE COUNTRY, YEAR-ROUND, ECOLOGICAL PORT ON LAKE ŚWIĘCAJTY, OFFERING INNOVATIVE SERVICES AND PRODUCTS
The beneficiary of the grant, Ascot Polska sp. z o. o. spółka komandytowa, is implementing the project within the framework of the "Innovations in the field of inland and sea waters" scheme of the "Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation" programme.
The aim of the project is to create the first comprehensive eco-marina in the country, based on the forgotten heritage of ice sailing, which developed in the region in the pre-war period, and to approach the issue of ecology in a holistic manner - implementing environmentally friendly solutions.
The works included earthworks, hydraulic engineering and construction, creation of harbour infrastructure (e.g. slip, utilities, sanitary facilities), construction of service facilities and small architecture (e.g. a pavilion with a chamber of historical traditions, bicycle rental), creation of ecological infrastructure (e.g. boat and electric vehicle chargers, LED lighting powered by photovoltaic cells, heating of the service pavilion with a modern heat pump). It is expected that the implementation of the project will make it possible to offer innovative products and services, increase the company's revenues and contribute to a significant reduction in environmental degradation - the normalisation and effective development of a post-industrial waterfront site with the utmost respect for the environment. The project is expected to increase the attractiveness of the Węgorzewo Municipality as a leisure and residential destination, offering products and services that were previously unavailable. The project also aims to restore the historical heritage of the area, which in the inter-war period was known as the European capital of ice sailing.
